SilverScreen Shop Media Co. is more than a business. It is a family-owned and operated labor of love built around something that has brought our family together for decades: classic movies, vintage television, and the forgotten entertainment of another time.

Our story began nearly 30 years ago, when video and DVD stores seemed to be everywhere. I have always loved classic media, but as the years passed, those stores began disappearing. Shelves once filled with old movies and television programs became harder to find, and many wonderful films and shows seemed to be fading from public memory along with them.

That was when I began discovering the world of public-domain film and television.

I quickly realized just how much remarkable entertainment was still out there—silent films, forgotten movies, early television programs, comedies, westerns, dramas, cartoons, and pieces of entertainment history that deserved another chance to be seen. Some were famous, while others had almost completely disappeared from view.

What began as a personal love of classic entertainment slowly became something much larger: a desire to preserve, collect, organize, and make these programs available to collectors and to people discovering them for the first time.

Today, SilverScreen Shop is truly a family effort.

My grandson Jeremiah works with Grandma managing our growing media archive and handles much of the technical side of the business and our content. His work helps us organize, preserve, and continue expanding the enormous amount of classic material we have collected through the years.

My daughter Crystal is deeply involved in customer service and product satisfaction. She helps make sure that the experience does not end when someone places an order. We want our customers to feel confident that there are real people behind the store who care about what they receive.

My daughter Jessy brings the experience of being a successful business owner herself. She provides inspiration, business guidance, and support as we grow, including helping us with hiring and bringing new people into our family business.

And then there is Sarah, the person who somehow manages to keep all of us on track. She works behind the scenes in the administrative side of the business, helping keep the many moving pieces organized as SilverScreen Shop continues to grow.

And Grandma—Cheryl—is now retired, but anyone who knows her knows that retirement does not mean leaving classic movies behind. Her love of vintage film and television, along with the knowledge gathered over decades of collecting and watching it, remains at the heart of what we do.

We are collectors ourselves. We understand the excitement of finding a movie you have been searching for, rediscovering a television show you thought you would never see again, or stumbling across something wonderful that you did not even know existed.

That is what we want SilverScreen Shop to become: not simply another place that sells DVDs, but a destination for people who love classic media.

We are continuing to build that destination now.

In the months ahead, we plan to introduce new features and experiences including our Subscription Box Service, The Time Machine, The Silver Vault, and more. Each is being created with the classic movie and television lover in mind—whether you are a lifelong collector or someone who has only recently discovered how much wonderful entertainment exists beyond today's streaming menus.

Most importantly, we never want to lose the personal side of what we do.

When you shop with us, ask us a question, recommend a title, or tell us about a program you remember from years ago, we do not think of you simply as another order number. We consider the people who support our family business part of the community we are building, and, in many ways, friends who share the same love of classic entertainment that brought us here in the first place.

We will continue striving to give you the best experience we possibly can, to discover forgotten treasures, and to help keep these wonderful films and television programs alive for another generation.

And finally, this journey carries a very personal meaning for me.

I dedicate SilverScreen Shop, and everything it has grown to become, in loving remembrance of the loved one we lost who helped begin this journey with me.

The business has changed. The technology has changed. The old video stores may have disappeared.

But the love of these movies, these television shows, and the memories connected to them remains.

And that is where our story began.
